📍 Ghana: Culture, Celebration & Deep Heritage
🔷 Day 1 – Friday, November 21 – Departure
Guests depart for Accra, Ghana to begin the AB 2025 Anniversary Trip. Sit back, relax, and enjoy in-flight service as we embark on this exciting journey of culture, heritage, and celebration.
🔷 Day 2 – Saturday, November 22 – Arrival in Accra
Upon arrival in Accra, guests will be met and transferred to The Labadi Beach Hotel. Check in, refresh, and enjoy the hotel’s beautiful beachfront atmosphere. The afternoon and evening are free for relaxation or light exploration before dinner. Join an optional (at your own expense) guided experience at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park where you will learn about the life and legacy of Ghana’s first President and charismatic pan-Africanist, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. Discover the heartbeat of Ghana’s capital. Stops include Independence Square, Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, Makola Market, and The Arts Center. Enjoy a traditional Ghanaian lunch before returning to the hotel for an evening at leisure.
🔷 Day 3 – Sunday, November 23 – Anniversary Ceremony
Today marks a highlight of the trip — the Anniversary Ceremony.
Choose to spend the day on your own relaxing or explore the city around you. A local guide will be available should you want an optional (at your expense) guided experience.
Later in the evening, join us to celebrate 21 years of marriage at the anniversary dinner. Share in this special moment of reflection and celebration surrounded by friends and family which will begin at 4:00pm. and concluding the day with an elegant dinner and live entertainment at the hotel.
🔷 Day 4 – Monday, November 24 – Accra City & Cultural Tour
After breakfast, we head to the Volta Region of Ghana for a deeply symbolic rebirth ceremony. During this traditional Ghanaian renaming ceremony, you will be welcomed into the local community amidst drumming and dancing and receive their Ghanaian name.
The experience will be followed by lunch at Mekandi, where contemporary and traditional Ghanaian dishes will offer a delightful culinary experience. Opt for a drumming and dancing working in the afternoon, where you can learn about the rhythms that form the foundation of vibrant Ghanaian music at the National Center for Arts and Culture.
Enjoy an Afrofusion gourmet dinner at your cost at Makosa, an upscale dining experience with the Atlantic Ocean providing a relaxing backdrop, bringing the day to a delightful close.
🔷 Day 5 – Tuesday, November 25 – Cape Coast & Elmina Castles
Travel along Ghana’s scenic coast to visit one of the country’s most significant historic sites — Cape Coast Castle. Learn about the trans-Atlantic slave trade and Ghana’s role in this powerful history. Dinner and overnight near the coast. Start the day with a visit to Kakum National Park, home to Ghana’s famous canopy walkway. Stroll through the lush rainforest and enjoy the breathtaking views. Return to Accra in the afternoon and spend the evening relaxing.
🔷 Day 6 – Wednesday, November 26 – Kakum National Park & Return to Accra
We depart for a full day of leisure activities at Aquasafari resort in Ada. Wind down and bond with the rest of the group at this renowned haven known for its beautiful landscapes, leisure activities, and hospitable service. Admire nature and interact animals at this serene resort. We will return to LaBadi Beach Hotel in the evening.
🔷 Day 7 – Thursday, November 27 – Depart Ghana to Arrive South Africa
After breakfast, check out, and embark upon a final tour in Ghana
We will have an early evening transfer to the airport for the overnight flight to Johannesburg, South Africa.
📍 South Africa: Safari, Culture & Coastal Beauty
🔷 Day 8 – Friday, November 28 – Soweto Tour
Upon our 4am arrival, we will clear customs and immigration and be transferred to our Pivot Hotel at Montecasino. Following breakfast, head out for a full-day exploration of Soweto, South Africa’s most famous township. Visit Vilakazi Street, Nelson Mandela House, and the Hector Pieterson Museum. Learn about the nation’s inspiring struggle for freedom before returning to the hotel for dinner and rest.
🔷 Day 9 – Saturday, November 29 – Cradle of Humankind & Pilanesberg Safari
Pack your bags — we’re headed to the bush! After breakfast, depart Montecasino Hotel for an overnight safari adventure in Pilanesberg National Park. En route, stop at the Cradle of Humankind. Upon arrival, enjoy a sunset game drive and dinner under the stars at Bakubung Bush Lodge.
🔷 Day 10 – Sunday, November 30 – Morning Game Drive & Lesedi Cultural Village
Begin the morning with a final safari drive followed by breakfast. Midday, travel back to Johannesburg with a stop for lunch and cultural lessons at Lesedi Cultural Village. Arrive at Davinci Suites – Sandton in the evening.
🔷 Day 11 – Monday, December 1 – Travel to Cape Town
Following breakfast, check out and enjoy a bit of shopping before heading to O.R. Tambo International Airport for an early-evening flight to Cape Town. Upon arrival, transfer to your AMAZING accommodation in Camps Bay and settle in for the night. Be prepared to be wowed by this surprise location. This will be “home” for the duration of the visit in Cape Town.
🔷 Day 12 – Tuesday, December 2 – Cape Town City & Table Mountain Tour
After a made-to-order breakfast, embark on a Full-Day Cape Town City and Table Mountain Tour. Explore:
- Castle of Good Hope & City Hall
- Parliament Buildings, Company Gardens, and Bo-Kaap
- Signal Hill, Camps Bay, and Clifton
- Ascend Table Mountain via the aerial cable car for panoramic city views before returning to your hotel around 15:00.
🔷 Day 13 – Wednesday, December 3 – Cape Peninsula Tour
Today’s full-day journey takes you along one of the most scenic coastlines in the world. Highlights include:
- Clifton & Camps Bay, Twelve Apostles, Llandudno
- Hout Bay (optional Seal Island boat trip)
- Chapman’s Peak Drive, Noordhoek
- Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and Cape Point
- Boulders Beach penguin colony
- Simons Town, Kalk Bay, St James and Muizenberg
Return to Cape Town in the evening after a spectacular day of sightseeing.
🔷 Day 14 – Thursday, December 4 – Stellenbosch & Winelands Tour
Today take in the beautiful surroundings of your accommodations. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner in or take a leisurely stroll to neighboring restaurants and beaches for a meal and some fun in the sun. Take some time for last-minute shopping or a walk along the beach.
🔷 Day 15 – Friday, December 5 – Leisure & Departure from South Africa
After breakfast, say goodbye to your Camps Bay abode. Depart for a day in the beautiful Cape Winelands. Visit the charming town of Stellenbosch, taste award-winning wines, and enjoy lunch among picturesque vineyards. Return to Cape Town International airport for your evening flight to the US.
🔷 Day 16 – Saturday, December 6 – Arrival Home
Welcome back! Arrive home filled with memories of a once-in-a-lifetime journey through Ghana & South Africa, celebrating heritage, culture, love, and connection.
